Safety Guard is the integrated quality system of the VanDrie Group. This quality system guarantees food safety and animal welfare throughout the entire production chain. Also responsible use of antibiotics and environmental management is regulated in Safety Guard. The basis of Safety Guard is ISO 22000. Safety Guard is also designed to meet the requirements set by customers worldwide. IFS and BRC are housed in Safety Guard. The backbone of Safety Guard is formed by the traceability system that has been implemented throughout the entire chain. In all phases of the production process, the basis is the individual ear number of the animal, the ID code, which remains connected to the animal and the meat. Even if the meat is further reduced in the deboning place, the ID code remains connected to every meat part, and traceability remains possible to the individual animal. With this system, the VanDrie Group distinguishes itself from other veal producers.
Tentego is part of the VanDrie Group, where Integrated Chain Management ensures quality in all areas from the beginning to the end within the chain. The Safety Guard quality system covers the HACCP, GMP + and QS certifications that are important to Tentego.
For the welfare of the calf, the Animal Welfare Code has been included in Safety Guard. The starting point for the Animal Welfare Code is the respect for the five freedoms of the animal. Safety Guard regulates the application of the Animal Welfare Code in all links of the chain. Within the VanDrie Group, multiple Animal Welfare Officers have been trained to ensure the well-being of the animal.
